Pumpkin Facts:
Pumpkins are a great source of Vitamin A,
beta-carotene, potassium and iron.

An 8-ounce serving only contains 40 calories.

We all know that pumpkin seeds are edible, but did you
know you can also eat their flowers?

Pumpkins are really a variety of squash and are grown all
over the world.
Make your own pumpkin puree:  Cut a pumpkin into
large chunks and scrape out seeds and fibers. Bake at
375 degrees until tender or cook, covered in the
microwave, until very tender. Let cool until easily
handled. Pull peel off pieces. Mash cooked pieces until
of desired consistency. If it is too watery for your
liking, heat cooked pumpkin in a saucepan over
low-medium heat until the mixture is reduced to a
thicker consistency.
TASTY TIDBIT: Pumpkins are 90% water.
